anon – Gaudete (from Piae Cantiones) sheet music for Choir –

Ergo nostra contio psallat iam in lustro; Benedicat Domino; salus regi nostro.

Translation by Martin Schubert Refrain: Freut euch, freut euch! Christus ist von der Jungfrau Maria geboren worden.

anon – Gaudete (from Piae Cantiones) sheet music for Choir

Christ is born of the Virgin Mary. At this time of grace and longed-for blessing, Love faithfully offers a song of praise.

God is made human in this wonderful birth: The world is cleansed through the rule of Christ. The gate of heaven now opens which to us was closed, Sending forth transforming light through which holiness is found. Therefore we meet in pure songs of joy; We bless the Lord, King of our Salvation. Christ is born of the Virgin Mary: The time of grace has come for which we have prayed; Let us devoutly sing songs of joy. God is made man, while nature wonders; The world is renewed by Christ the King.

The closed gate of Ezekiel has been passed through; From where the Light has risen; salvation is found. Therefore, let our assembly sing praises now at this time of purification; Let it bless the Lord: Koenraad Moreau submitted Adrian Wall submitted Francesco Spiga submitted Urtext with Mensurstrich layout.
